SAFE HAVEN CONSTRUCTION!!

As you all know, AARCS obtained some space last year for our Safe Haven.

 The intention is to have a place for animals in dire need of rescue to go when no foster space is available and there is need for a safe place for quarantine due to contagious health issues.  Well, we have come a long way since then.  Early this year, AARCS held several mini spay and neuter clinics and used the Safe Haven as a shelter for before and after surgery care of all the animals.  At the time, it was known that eventually the shelter would be renovated to make it more efficient and set up as such a shelter should be. 

In the past few months, with the help of several devoted volunteers and generous companies, the vision of AARCS is quickly coming to fruition.  Over the next few weeks, drywall will be going up, walls will be painted and floors will be installed.  The hope is the shelter will be ready for animals sometime in June.

When AARCS first announced our vision for the shelter, we were hoping to raise monetary donations totalling $200,000.  This money would cover the cost of renovations, kennels, all other necessities to effectively run a shelter and first year operating costs.  We are currently at a total of $128,350 dollars!!!  This is amazing!!  We only have just over $70,000 dollars to go before we hit that very lofty goal.
